Ledger CTO Charles Guillemet said about 4,000 BTC were pegged out of the Liquid bridge with an OP_RETURN whitehat message. Liquid said funds moved via SideSwap’s Peg-out Authorization Key, the key was not compromised, and LBTC deposits and withdrawals are paused. Other Liquid assets are unaffected.
Purported whitehats have returned about 85% of the Liquid peg-out haul — roughly 3,400 BTC, or about $269.2 million — while still holding about 598.5 BTC. Peg-outs remain frozen. L-BTC depeg risk looms if the deficit stays uncovered.
